Abstract
A 55-year-old woman was admitted to hospital for orthostatic headache and nausea for 3 days. CSF study showed normal pressure and elevated protein level. Brain MRI revealed diffuse pachymeningeal enhancement and descent of the cerebellar tonsils. Radioisotope cisternography did not show CSF leakage. She was treated with hydration and symptomatic treatment for 10 days but had no effect on headache. After epidural blood patch, headache was successfully
resolved. This case shows that epidural blood patch may be considered as an early treatment option for spontaneous intracranial hypotension with normal CSF pressure and characteristic MRI findings.
